Policy Advocacy

Creating policy framework for the growth of the telecom & IT industry is a key priority for TEPC. The council works closely with the government on making policies by providing suggestions, inputs from industry members, and also spreads awareness amongst members about any policy changes and its impact.

TEPC have taken forward issues of members concerning to various departments like DIPP, MEA, Department of commerce, Department of Telecommunications, BSNL, Power Grid Corporation of India, CPWD, NBCC, Ministry of urban Development, PMO Office. The issues concerning industry and industry players which have been taken forward by TEPC are as follows:

For the benefit of members TEPC, we have taken forward concerns, issues, problems to various departments like DIPP, MEA, Department of commerce, Department OF Telecom, BSNL, Power Grid Corporation of India, CPWD, NBCC, Ministry of urban Development, PMO Office. All these issues have resulted in corrective steps over the last few months even latest DOPT’s Gazette Notifications last week on Public Procurement has also incorporated some of the above issues in the Notification itself.

• Implementation of PMA in various Smart Cities Projects

• Implementation of the provisions of PMA policy in USOF tender

• Issues for promotion of Export of Telecom Equipment & Services

• Non- Implementation of PMA policy for promoting Domestic manufacturing in MHRD restrictive clauses in BSNL Tender, giving preference to foreign OEMs resulting in gross ignorance of Govt’s MAKE IN INDIA initiative

• Mumbai metro Rail Investment Project (MMRDA) PMA & Public Procurement order not being followed

• Serious Security concerns on deployment of China products in the govt. telecom Networks

• Concerns on the NFS IP – MPPLS (Army) Tender floated by BSNL.

• Restrictive conditions in smart City not getting removed

TEPC organizes as well as participates in trade shows, seminars in developing and some developed countries to provide platform to the exporter members to showcase their products & services.
