Subject: Participation in CommuniCast Myanmar 2015 from 17-19 November 2015 at Yangon, Myanmar

Dear Sir,

TEPC is proposing to build TEPC- India Pavilion in CommuniCast Myanmar 2015 which is scheduled from 17-19 November 2015 at Yangon, Myanmar. The event is being organized under MDA scheme of Department of Commerce, Ministry of Commerce & Industry.

2. The CommuniCast Myanmar 2015 event is organised by Bangkok Exhibition Services Ltd, a member of the All World Exhibitions Group, who have been actively running shows in Yangon since October 2013. Through the Group, the show is associated with the annual CommunicAsia and BroadcastAsia shows in Singapore and is increasing its resources in Myanmar as the economy grows. The firstCommuniCast Myanmar show was held from 18-20 November 2014 in Yangon. Bringing together 90 companies from 22 countries, the show attracted 2086 professional visitors and set a new benchmark for projecting the forward development of the country’s ICT industry. The second show will be held from 17-19 November in Yangon, Myanmar.

3. Myanmar is perhaps one of the countries least touched by the exceptional developments in telecommunications in the last two decades. Two mobile licences awarded in June 2013 to Ooredoo of Qatar and Telenor of Norway is now leading to rapid build out of a country-wide network within a very short time frame. In July 2014, an international partnership was announced with KDDI and Sumitomo of Japan for the third mobile licence with an investment of US$ 2 billion spread over ten years to upgrade the infrastructure of incumbent operator, Myanma Posts & Telecommunications (MPT). The fourth mobile licence has been offered to Yatanarpon Teleport, who are expected to work with Viettel of Vietnam. Meanwhile an unlimited number of ISP licences are in the process of being issued as opportunities in the broader ICT economy growth will take place beyond the key cities of Yangon and Mandalay.

4. KThe direct cost of participation is 28,000/- per sqm. However, for the members participating through TEPC, the tentative cost of participation is Rs 21,000/- per sqm for one side open stall and Rs. 21,500/- for 2 side open stall (first cum first serve) and Rs. 10,000/- as administrative fee + Service Tax. The space will be subsidized upto 9 sqm and the member will have to pay Rs. 28,000/- per sqm for the space more than 9 sqm. Participating members will be reimbursed 60% of the stall cost maximum upto Rs. 1, 30,000/- and upto maximum Rs. 70,000/- for economy excursion class air fare as per MDA guidelines after the event.
